Visit Solomon Islands

Reasons. Solomon Islands is perhaps the most exciting place to visit; one of the fewer multi-cultural, multi-ethnic countries in the Pacific region. About 90% of the total Population of Solomon Islands are Melanesians. Polynesians (Rennell Bellona, Tikopia, and Sikaiana) make up just less than 3%, the Chinese and other foreigners make up more than 1% of the entire of Population. Its multi-ethnic uniqueness is perhaps the reason why many anthropologists turned their focus on Solomon Islands in the last 40 years.

Second World War. Guadalcanal, where the capital city of Solomon Islands, Honiara, is located, was the turning point of the Second World War. Tens of thousands of Japanese and American soldiers died here. War Memorials were erected by the US and Japanese governments to honor those who died here during that war.
